Year One - Television Production is an introduction to studio production techniques; concentrating on the various cameras, sound, lighting, graphics, direction, scripting and presentation methods required for a typical live TV production. Students also produce a live Arts show and a Live Demonstration show.
Year Two - Students produce a short News Package - shot on location. They focus on lighting workshops and various camera techniques used in the industry. The basics of editing software Final Cut Pro are introduced.Directing skills and building professional relationships with clientele are learnt as students direct and produce a 3 minute corporate video to promote societies and organisations.
Year Three - Working in teams, the students shoot on location to produce an advertisement suitable for television under a set theme. Skills in Final Cut Pro are improved significantly.Students gain more experience of the industry by improving their pitching skills and produce a 3-4 minute drama. Knowledge and experience of working alongside actors and shooting on outside locations are greatly improved this year.
Year Four - Students can choose between producing a drama or documentary of television industry standard. This final year allows students to scope to work independently, allowing even more opportunity for creative practice.
